Is Bible Study Software Too Technical?
October 21, 2010 0 CommentsSome people may think that Bible study software makes studying the Bible too technical. There was a time that I might have agreed. One you evaluate the information that the software can show you in a matter of seconds you might change your mind as well.
In many cases the words that appear in the Bible may have up to thirty of forty different word numbers in the Greek or Hebrew Lexicons. As you see words that were translated twenty different ways with totally diverse meanings you realize that there is something more to the story. When you see words with all of these different meanings and the words was also translated miscellaneously 250 times you may be scratching your head.
From the Book of Genesis to the Book of Revelation the Bible is a mystery. There are many that say the Bible means exactly what it says. There are over one thousand different translations - which one is exact? Were we instructed to trust in a book, or trust in God?
Over years and years of Bible study I read verses that seemed to contradict each other. I read other verses that quite frankly, I did not believe God said. Many of these seeming contradictions were resolved for me when I studied the word, or verse with Bible software. In some cases, the words I studied revealed new information that proved to me God's genius.
