What I Learned From Bible Software

by Admin on December 3, 2011 0 Comments

For many years I read the Bible daily. Most mornings I would start by reading a Psalm. After years and years of Bible study I found myself left with too many questions. Through a series of events and encounters I was motivated to create a scroll by following reference verses. I made a few different scrolls, most of them only lasted for ten to twenty verses before there were no more references to follow. The longest one was from a verse in 1 Corinthians 13, until the ONE!

I was inspired (told) to make a scroll from a verse in the Book of Genesis. When I looked at it I thought to myself I'll be done with this in 5 minutes... there was only one reference to start with! Four and one half months later - more than 27,000 more references and 400,000 verses later it was done ...

Lord God Almighty

by Admin on April 14, 2011

There are many mysteries contained in the Bible. Maybe that is why the last book of the Bible is named "Revelation", because that is the only way to comprehend it... One such mystery is the name "Lord God Almighty". It appears 15 times and they are all in the Book of Revelation. Studying all the words in the Bible won't provide the answer - revelation will.

The name "God Almighty" and "Almighty God" appear many times in the Old Testament but the name Lord God Almighty appears only at the end of Bible. Is that when God becomes One, or "All in ALL"? Something to contemplate.

The name "Almighty" is used frequently in many religious circles but it appears less than 50 times in the Bible and over 30 of those times are in the Book of Job which is the oldest book of the Bible. According to scholars the ...

The Highest of All - A Verse From ECCLESIASTES

by Admin on December 3, 2010

Trying to be positive and faithful in a fast paced, stress ridden world is difficult. God knows! I found this Bible verse in Ecclesiastes some time back. Quite often I need to remind myself who is ultimately in charge.

Here is the verse.

Ecclesiastes 5:8 - If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.

In today's world we see all types of injustice, abuse of power and unwarranted oppression. What this Bible verse says to me is that the Highest of All sees... and cares. He will not allow this to continue indefinitely, and when He decides that enough is enough the change will be both swift, and permanent. . I also believe that GOD wants people to be fed ...

Is Bible Study Software Too Technical?

by Admin on October 21, 2010 0 Comments

Some people may think that Bible study software makes studying the Bible too technical. There was a time that I might have agreed. One you evaluate the information that the software can show you in a matter of seconds you might change your mind as well.

In many cases the words that appear in the Bible may have up to thirty of forty different word numbers in the Greek or Hebrew Lexicons. As you see words that were translated twenty different ways with totally diverse meanings you realize that there is something more to the story. When you see words with all of these different meanings and the words was also translated miscellaneously 250 times you may be scratching your head.

From the Book of Genesis to the Book of Revelation the Bible is a mystery. There are many that say the Bible means exactly what it says. There are ...

"Man Of God" in The Bible - Who is the "Man of God"?

by Admin on October 2, 2010 0 Comments

The term 'Man of God' is in the Bible 156 times. Some of the most prominent people in the Old Testament were referred to as the Man of God. Who are they? The first time that the title was used (chronologically) was in Deuteronomy and it was the title given to Moses.

The man of God title was also commonly used for the Prophet Elijah (Elijah means 'my God is Jehovah' or 'Yah (U) is God'). His name is a combination of the Hebrew word #410 EL (God) and #3050 YAH which is 'LORD' and "JAH'.

The title of name of God was also used when referring to Elisha, Elijah's protege. The name Elisha is word #477 in Hebrew and it means 'God is Salvation'. The root of this name also goes to #410 EL, God.

The term man of God was also used several times referring to the ...

A Better Hope from the New Testament Book of Hebrews

by Admin on August 13, 2010 0 Comments

If you have been looking for hope in a world that is sorely in need of it maybe this verse from the New Testament Book of Hebrews will give you some. When you look at all the problems in the world at times it can seem hopeless but it’s not. It's not because God hasn’t given up! The hope filled verse I am referring to is shown below.

Hebrews 7:19

For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by which we draw nigh unto God.

This verse above is referring to the priest that received the promise of the Lord; who swore to make him a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec. The words “For the law made nothing perfect” show the futility built in to the Old Testament laws and the words “bringing in of a better ...

The New American Catholic Bible – Book of Wisdom – Chapter 7

by Admin on August 8, 2010 0 Comments

For those of you that are not familiar with the Catholic Bible there are a number of books included in it that are not included in the standard Christian Bibles. The books included in the Catholic Bible are; The Book of Tobit, The Book of Judith, The First Book of Macabees The Second Book of Macabees, The Book of Wisdom, The Book of Sirach and The Book of Baruch.

For now I want to focus on a few verses from the Book of Wisdom Chapter 7 – The Title for this section of verses is Nature and Incomparable Dignity of Wisdom. Frankly, these are some of the most beautiful, powerful and awe-inspiring lines of scripture that I have ever read. I hope you will feel the same way. If you have a New American Catholic Bible I would re-read Chapter 7 after you read this. If you don’t have one ...

The LORD and Satan Against Job - What the Bible Says!

by Admin on July 17, 2010 0 Comments

The Old Testament Book of Job is amazing for many different reasons. How this book was ever included in the Bible is a story of it's own. Job was written 1000 to 2000 years BEFORE the Book of Genesis. It is probably the most confusing and ingenious book of the Bible. It contains an all-star cast of characters including the LORD, Satan, the Almighty, God (EL), God (Elowahh), Elihu (He is my God), and of course, Job.

The questions and answers in Job are deeply profound. Many, including me, find it hard to believe that God would treat a great man like Job as mercilessly as Job was treated. Unless of course - we will save that for another day! God did not treat Job in that manner - If the book is to be believed. Here are the verses in Job I am referring to;

And the LORD said unto ...

The Prophet Elijah - Did you know?

by Admin on March 27, 2010 0 Comments

The prophet Elijah is of the major figures in the Bible. I would like to share some interesting things about Elijah that you may not be aware of. At the very least, the information should be thought provoking.

In Hebrew the name Elijah or Eliyah is word number 452 from the Enhanced Strong's Lexicon. Word 452 is derived from 410 which is EL (God- the same name that Jesus cried out to in Aramaic from the Cross) and word number 3050 Yah or Yahh (a deity)which is translated at"LORD" and "JAH". The name Elijah is a combination of both God and LORD.

Elijah's name is in the Bible 71 times. The first time it appears is in 1 Kings 17,1. Gee, that's 71 times in the Bible starting with 1 Kings 17,1. Elijah also appears in 2 Kings, 2 Chronicles, the Book of ...

Great Bible Mystery - JOB 40,15

by Admin on March 7, 2010 0 Comments

The first great mystery of the Book of JOB is how it was ever included in the Bible. It was written a thousand years or more before the first book of the Bible. The Book of Job does not promote any specific religious doctrine by name or laws and yet it contains an all star cast of characters. The LORD, Satan, several Gods, The Almighty, Elihu (means - He is my God) and JOB Himself.

At the end of the Book of JOB the LORD comes and speaks with JOB. There are statements and questions in the LORD's dissertation that are quite revealing about JOB's identity, and the LORD's. You probably won't hear a sermon on this verse in any church because it is so mysterious few would begin to understand it's meaning, or importance. If JOB was alive on planet earth today it may have ...

Bible Mystery - Was Job the First Man?

by Admin on February 20, 2010 0 Comments

The Book of Job is highly scientific and loaded with mysteries and clues. The Book of Job is some 1000 or more more older than the Book of Genesis. At the opening of Job's story it says that He was the greatest man in all the East (East-eternity). There are questions in Job and mind-boggling prophecies. The verse from the title is shown below.

Job 15,7

Art thou the class first man that was born? or wast thou made before the hills?

After many hours of studying scriptures with the assist of Bible software I am convinced that there is a lot more to this book than a religious doctrine. Job predates Judaism and many other religions. Interestingly, the LORD, the Almighty and numerous Gods (all from One) are also in the Book of Job. Yet the verses in Job promote no specific religious doctrine.

When you search ...

What Makes the New American Catholic Bible Different From a Standard Bible?

by Admin on February 18, 2010 0 Comments

There are several differences in the New American Bible Catholic Version and standard Christian Bibles. Some of the difference are very basic like the books that are included. The Catholic Bible contains additional books that the Church believed were worthy of inclusion. Here are a few of the other differences.

  • The New American Bible Catholic Version is approved by the Catholic Church.
  • The New American adheres more closely to the original Old Testament in terms of verse numbers. This is especially true in the Book of Psalms.
  • The New American Bible has a forward that provides additional insight for interpretation and authorship of various writings.

Is one Bible superior to another? We won't try to answer that because there are over 1000 different translations of the Bible. Does anyone have it exactly right? I guess if they did there would not be 1000 or more versions.

A couple of ...
